Introduction: Any bacterial isolates showing resistant to three or more than different types of antimicrobial groups are termed as multidrug resistant. Such superbugs have shown significant challenge not only microbiologist but also clinicians. Multidrug like extended-spectrum and metallo-beta lactamase being encountered the causative agents blood stream infection. Accurate diagnosis infection, timely isolation identification determination their susceptibility crucial, effective management depends on selection administration most appropriate agent. Objectives: This study is aimed find out efficacy tigecycline against resistance enterobacteriaceae.Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional was conducted in Department Microbiology, BP Koirala Institute Health Sciences, from 1st September 2014 31st August 2015. Confirmation for ESBL done recommended by Clinical Laboratory Standard (CLSI) MBL production detected double disk synergy test. Antibiotic sensitivity test Kirby-Bauer diffusion method. Results: 98.96% enterobacteriaceae were sensitive tigecycline. None 1.04% showed intermediate susceptibility. total 64 (33.4%) found be Conclusion: Tigecycline excellent invitro activity MDR

In vitro activity of tigecycline against multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii and selection of tigecycline-amikacin synergy.

Polymyxin B, minocycline, and tigecycline were the most potent of 10 antibiotics against 170 isolates of multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii. In time-kill studies, the exposure of a highly tigecycline-resistant isolate to tigecycline resulted in enhanced susceptibility to amikacin and synergistic bactericidal activities of the two drugs.
